Job Summary

The Learning Support Specialist 2 (LSS2) is a professional tutor responsible for providing academic support to students. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the subject matter and be able to communicate it effectively to students using various methods and teaching tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplement students' understanding and command of course material outside of class.
  • Help students develop and apply appropriate learning and study skills.
  • Maintain documentation of all tutoring sessions and generate reports for the department.
  • Provide course instructors with communication and information to facilitate student learning.
  • Attend tutor training sessions and maintain a thorough knowledge of course material and instructional methodologies.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • One year of teaching and/or tutoring experience in an educational environment.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to gain access to work site.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching at Columbus State Community College.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position with 20 scheduled hours.
