Job Title: VP of IT Security

NexCore Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP of IT Security to lead our information security efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust security strategies to protect our real estate investment operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead IT Security: Develop and implement information security strategies tailored to our real estate investment operations, ensuring the resilience and trust of our financial endeavors.
  • Participate in RFP Processes: Boost confidence in our security and risk profile during RFP processes, showcasing our commitment to safeguarding financial assets to potential investors, lenders, and clients.
  • Advise Deal Teams: Act as the primary advisor on security risks and technology practices, participating in pitch meetings with clients, lenders, and capital partners to foster assurance and trust.
  • Enhance Security Capabilities: Drive security activities and projects to elevate the organization's capabilities in Information Security and digitization, aligning technology initiatives with financial goals.
  • Global Software Strategy: Lead the design and implementation of a global software strategy aligned with the company's growth trajectory, leveraging technology as a strategic enabler for success.
  • Software Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute plans for software architecture, selection, and implementation, ensuring alignment with business goals, security requirements, and driving efficiency and innovation.
  • Security Policies & Standards: Develop and maintain security policies and standards aligned with evolving regulatory requirements, proactively addressing emerging threats and compliance challenges.
  • Cyber Risk Solutions: Provide security advisory to business partners, developing controls and solutions to address cyber risks, fostering a culture of security awareness and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Identity & Access Management: Oversee identity and access management, emphasizing privileged access management to protect sensitive data and ensure only authorized personnel have access to critical systems and information.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory security requirements pertinent to real estate investment operations, maintaining the highest standards of data protection and integrity.
  • Operational Security: Manage the IT team to meet operational security requirements, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Incident Management: Lead security incident management efforts, ensuring timely reporting, escalation, and resolution of security-related events to minimize financial and reputational risks.
  • Security Metrics & Dashboards: Deliver security dashboards and metrics to investment committees, providing insights into the state of the security program and enabling informed decision-making.
  • User Experience: Provide high-level oversight of the help desk and customer service, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues and maintaining high levels of user satisfaction and productivity.
  • Innovation & Optimization: Drive initiatives for technology innovation and optimization, ensuring that IT infrastructure and applications are efficient, effective, and aligned with business needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of full-time work experience in information security management and/or related functions (IT Risk Management, Technology Risk Management) with relevant certifications (CISSP, SANs, CRISC, CISM).
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, lenders, investors, and technology teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to formulate and implement solid security practices that align with long-term business goals.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Detail-Oriented: Keen eye for security strategies, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Identity Management Expertise: Experience in Identity Governance and Lifecycle management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in technical IT security domains such as Network Security, Cloud Governance, Cyber Operations, Forensics, Access, and Identity Management Governance.
  • Leadership: Hands-on team leadership and management experience, ideally complemented by suitable management qualifications.
  • Innovation Mindset: Continuously think about how technology can enhance the sales process, improve performance, and drive business success.
Benefits:
  • Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000 / year
  • Eligible for discretionary benefits: performance bonus
