Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work collaboratively with parents, general education teachers, and other specialists to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with parents and other stakeholders to develop and implement IEPs that meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Modify general education curriculum to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for students with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement specialized teaching materials and strategies to support student learning.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Use a variety of assessment tools and techniques to evaluate student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to support individual learning needs.
  • Implement and manage behavioral interventions and strategies to support student behavior and academic success.
  • Work closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other specialists to support student development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress and needs.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress, IEPs, and any incidents or concerns.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required; Master's Degree in Special Education or Reading Intervention preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and their families.
  • Compensation rate range $30.00+/hr.
  • Experience working in all school settings.
