Group Exercise Instructor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Exercise Instructor to join our team at Valley Health Wellness and Fitness Center. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for leading group fitness classes in a safe and engaging manner, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness levels, and ensuring a fun and inclusive experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach group exercise classes as scheduled, utilizing a variety of formats and styles to engage participants.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of contraindicated exercises, ensuring a safe and effective approach to exercise.
  • Maintain industry certification in good standing and meet continuing education requirements to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices.
  • Ensure timely setup and cleanup of class areas, and report any equipment needs or issues to management promptly.
  • Record participation numbers and provide feedback to management to help inform programming decisions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in scheduling and class format, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Group exercise instructor certification required, preferably from a NCCA-accredited organization.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching group exercise classes, with a variety of styles and levels.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with members in a positive and service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
