Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Data Specialist to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our financial operations team, you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of our projects. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare, review, and analyze financial data related to our direct-sponsored project portfolio.

You will have a strong background in financial analysis, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You should be highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and proficient in financial software such as proposal preparation and project financial reporting tools. A bachelor's degree in a field of business or equivalent years of experience is required, along with 2+ years of relevant experience in financial and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial data related to our direct-sponsored project portfolio.
  • Perform monthly updates of project plans, highlighting financial spending and staffing trends.

  • Build, update, and submit all monthly financial reports to government sponsors and program managers.
