Position Overview:
The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a Seasonal Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of our institutional buildings and grounds. This role involves assisting with maintenance tasks, preparing for special events, painting, and various related responsibilities.

Work Schedule:
This position operates on a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, with hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling up to 1,040 hours within the fiscal year.

Compensation:
The hourly wage for this temporary role is set at $15.50, with a maximum of 37.5 hours per week. Please note that this position does not include benefits.

Responsibilities:
The primary duties encompass a wide range of maintenance tasks, ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and functional.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Licenses/Certification: A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 to 2 years of general maintenance experience is preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English for effective communication.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance tasks and grounds-keeping procedures.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of landscape chemicals, including pesticides and fertilizers.
  • Dependable and trustworthy with a strong work ethic.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy items (50-75 pounds) and working in various weather conditions.
