Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Segra is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team in Columbia, SC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of our network, including equipment installation and commissioning, circuit and node turn-up and testing, and customer premise equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and commission telecom equipment, including Cisco and Ciena devices
  • Perform circuit and node turn-up and testing, including troubleshooting and repair
  • Maintain customer premise equipment, including Ethernet Network Interface Devices, Routers, Data Switches, and premise Firewalls
  • Perform preventive maintenance and testing on transport infrastructure, switching infrastructure, and IP/Data networks
  • Interact with internal and external customers, service technicians, technical support personnel, and other telecom professionals

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with telecom equipment
  • Knowledge of telecom equipment, including Cisco and Ciena devices
  • Associate's degree or technical field (industry related) preferred, and/or a combination of job-related experience
  • Cisco and/or Ciena equipment experience preferred
