Position Overview:
At SSM Health, we believe in the power of our work. As a Cytology Technical Expert, you will play a vital role in our laboratory team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care through precise cytological analysis.

Job Highlights:
- Sign-on Bonus Eligible – $10,000 for external qualified candidates.
- Full-Time, Day Shift with variable start and end times (Monday to Friday).
- Starting Pay: $34.10 minimum, with offers based on experience and equity.
- Shift Differentials: Evenings - $2.00, Nights - $3.75, Weekends - $2.00.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct microscopic examinations of cellular specimens to identify and screen for morphological changes.
2. Analyze and classify cellular components based on established criteria.
3. Review patient clinical histories to provide preliminary interpretations of abnormal features.
4. Prepare and present reports of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens to pathologists.
5. Perform cytopreparatory techniques and ensure compliance with quality control standards.
6. Maintain departmental supply levels efficiently and cost-effectively.
7. Assist in training new staff and perform technical assessments.
8. Stay updated on evolving techniques and procedures through continuous education.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of technical experience in a laboratory setting.

Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Regular sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional lifting of heavier objects.
- Strong visual acuity and depth perception required for specimen analysis.

Licensure:
- Cytotechnologist (CT) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.

Work Environment:
- Day Shift position with a commitment to maintaining a safe and alert work atmosphere.
