Position Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of an Acquisition Scheduling Subject Matter Expert (SME) to facilitate the planning, development, execution, and oversight of a thorough, cost-effective systems support strategy. This role is essential for ensuring effective program management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a scheduling authority, offering technical direction and insights to the Government Program Manager (PM) and Program Executive Officer (PEO).
  • Engage with Government representatives to identify challenges and propose actionable solutions.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to outline scheduling tasks and requirements, present the schedule to the Government PM/PEO, and ensure all action items are addressed.
  • Guide the Government in formulating weapon system program execution strategies to meet capability objectives as outlined in the program acquisition strategy document and acquisition program baseline.
  • Develop, assess, and sustain an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Implement scheduling and project control best practices to aid the Government in utilizing metrics, data collection, tracking tools, and schedule inputs to evaluate the health of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) throughout the program.
  • Employ Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to assess and report on program health and status.
  • Coordinate and support various program activities, including meeting participation, documentation of meeting minutes, milestone planning, tracking, scheduling, briefing preparation, staff coordination, risk management strategy development, and decision documentation.
  • Deliver schedule training to the Program Management Office (PMO) and designated personnel upon request from the Government.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of experience in acquisitions and program scheduling. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Must possess expert-level proficiency in scheduling tools, particularly Microsoft Project. Candidates should be fully autonomous and knowledgeable about the Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition (SAF/AQ) and AFLCMC scheduling processes. Experience with IMP/IMS is essential, along with extensive knowledge of scheduling and project control best practices. Familiarity with EVM and related principles is required. Proficiency in software scheduling applications, including but not limited to Open Plan Professional (OPP) and Microsoft Project, is necessary. Candidates should also be skilled in Deltek Open Plan Professional and Acumen Fuse. U.S. citizenship and a current Secret clearance are mandatory.
