About the Role

The State Eligibility Consultant plays a critical role in ensuring that individuals and families receive the public assistance benefits they are eligible for. As a key member of the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), you will work closely with clients to explain programs and benefits, review applications, and determine eligibility for Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct eligibility interviews with clients to determine their eligibility for public assistance programs
  • Review and analyze data to identify inconsistencies and unreported information
  • Make eligibility determinations in compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, and guidelines
  • Approve claims referred and calculated by contractors
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in rules, regulations, and guidelines related to public assistance programs
