Overview

We are looking for a Data Streaming Engineer to join our Back End Application Team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Kafka platform, strong knowledge and comfortability with Kafka client APIs, Kafka internals, and Kafka architecture and tools.

Responsibilities
  • Data Stream Applications: Build and design data stream applications using Kafka core concepts and connectors.
  • Scaling and Tuning: Understand scaling and tuning of read and write applications.
  • Performance Optimization: Work to improve performance and reduce costs of Data Transformation and enrichment systems.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate technical abilities, risks, and opportunities around data streaming applications.
  • Integration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate Kafka with other data processing systems.
  • Documentation: Developing and maintaining documentation for Kafka configurations and best practices.
  • Solution Development: Ability to take product requirements and work with architecture to develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Leadership: Comfortable with leading other engineers to develop a solution and breaking up work across multiple engineers.
Qualifications
  • Backend Development: 5+ years of experience in backend software development (Python/Node/Java).
  • Kafka Architecture: 5+ years of experience working with the Kafka architecture.
  • Relational Databases: 5+ years of experience working with relational databases.
  • NoSQL Database Experience: 1+ years of NoSQL database experience.
  • Containerized Deployment: 3+ years of working with a containerized deployment system.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Confluent Kafka Ecosystem: Experience with Confluent Kafka ecosystem.
  • Flink Stream Processing: Understanding and experience with Flink stream processing.
