The Solar Engineering Data Solutions Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing tools that enhance our data analytics capability and efficiency to support PV projects from early design phase through commissioning and testing.

This role is highly cross-functional and requires the ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive team environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and standardizing automation solutions for recurring Solar Engineering tasks that involve time-consuming or complex data analyses and/or processes.
  • Establishing means to benchmark actual PV system performance against contractual KPIs.
  • Developing automated reports to communicate project performance to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to acquire, store, and maintain data.
  • Automating data mining processes from internal and external APIs.
  • Managing data pipelines to ensure adaptability and scalability.
  • Implementing data quality programs to ensure data analysis and reporting accuracy.
  • Establishing data and reporting governance, including roles and responsibilities, standard operating procedures, and guidelines.
  • Completing data analysis requests from site managers, owners, vendors, or other key stakeholders.
  • Presenting data analysis results and recommendations to both internal and external clients.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics or a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language and relevant libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, etc.).
  • Experience with the Azure ecosystem (blob storage, tables, durable functions, batch).
  • Experience with databases, SQL, and efficient handling of large datasets.
  • Prior experience in the energy sector, PV solar technology preferred.
  • Knowledge of PV solar resources, performance modeling, and testing, including experience with tools such as PVsyst and System Advisor Model (SAM) software tools.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical background.
  • Data analytics experience with visualization tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Anticipated base salary range: $94,000 - $110,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, health savings account with employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, 4x pay basic life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, accident, hospital, and critical illness insurance, 401(k) plan with 6% company match, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
