Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and implement plans for treatment.
  • Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, documenting findings in the medical record.
  • Collect and assist providers in collecting specimens, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Perform daily controls and calibration of laboratory equipment, informing supervisors of inaccurate results.
  • Assist with special procedures and examinations, following infection control and universal protocol standards.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms, stocking supplies and ensuring par levels.
  • Participate in pre-visit chart preparation, ensuring required lab results and documentation are available.
  • Perform various clerical functions, including filing, processing insurance forms, and photocopying.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program with certificate.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a medical assistant, emergency medical technician, or certified nursing attendant.
