Position Overview:

This part-time role (32 hours per week, including evenings and one Saturday per month) involves conducting MRI examinations following established protocols and procedures. The technologist will utilize independent judgment to guarantee superior diagnostic quality and provide exceptional patient care. Responsibilities also include assisting Radiologists with specialized procedures, managing necessary documentation, preparing patients, operating MRI equipment, and performing related clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct MRI procedures as per physician orders, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Guide patients to the treatment area and assist with necessary preparations.
  • Complete all required documentation to facilitate prompt MRI service delivery.
  • Clarify MRI procedures to alleviate patient concerns and inquiries.
  • Administer intravenous contrast as needed.
  • Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Finalize documentation and secure interpretations from radiologists.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure optimal machine performance, reporting any issues to management.
  • Prioritize customer service, maintaining professionalism in interactions with patients, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • ARRT (R) (MR) certification and licensure in Connecticut are mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in various MRI procedures is required.
  • Experience with Siemens and GE equipment is preferred.
