About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Leasing Specialist to join our team at Shea Properties. As a Leasing Specialist, you will be responsible for presenting and leasing our communities to prospective residents, providing exceptional customer service, and participating in the marketing of our properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present and lease our communities to prospective residents, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in the marketing of our properties, including writing and posting ads, gathering market information, and analyzing sales data.
  • Work closely with the property management team to achieve leasing goals and objectives.
  • Assist with closing and securing the office and models daily, maintaining a professional and organized work environment.
  • Compile welcome paperwork, establish move-in appointments, and conduct thorough walk-throughs with new residents.
  • Prepare routine reports, including weekly and quarterly market surveys, and share information with the on-site management team.
  • Champion individual Leasing Fundamentals processes and assist in maintaining an accurate and current priority wait list.
  • Provide customer service per Shea core values and customer care service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with resident concerns and directing them to the ACM and CM when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Six months sales and/or customer service experience.
  • Apartment leasing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Yardi preferred.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree or some college preferred.

Work Environment

The Leasing Specialist works on-site at an apartment community and interfaces with external/internal customers, residents, and vendors on a regular basis. The position work schedule varies depending on the property, with hours usually scheduled from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. The position is required to work weekend days (Sat/Sun) and must be flexible with availability depending on the needs of the property. Must be able and willing to travel, if needed, 10-25% of the time.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, and use a telephone and personal computer. May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to occasionally drive during the course of work.
