We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer PE to provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing electrical engineer work for code compliance and constructability, and will conduct field observations to verify existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
  • Review electrical engineer work for code compliance and constructability
  • Conduct field observations to verify existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems
  • Experience in construction management and scheduling, and cost estimating
  • Work will be performed 40 hours per week during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of specialized electrical facility schematic design and design development experience
  • Professional registration as a licensed electrical engineer, with at least 5 years of experience under registration
  • Secret clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of ICC codes, NFPA 70 (NEC), NESC, and DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current AutoCAD and other design and general office software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specifications development and coordination, using Government-based specification software
  • Experience conducting field observation to verify/obtain the existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems and incorporating these conditions into the design for a renovation/rehabilitation project
  • Experience in construction management/scheduling and cost-estimating
  • Ability to prepare and provide high-level briefs to senior leadership
  • Ability to review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information (RFI's)
