Job Summary

The Community Development Manager at Huntington National Bank plays a critical role in facilitating corporate management of community development administration, ensuring compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act and the Bank's Community Plan. This position oversees management-level positions responsible for critical corporate functions, including risk management, regulatory compliance, national community partnerships, and exam preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster relationships with community members, local organizations, and community stakeholders to identify and address community needs.
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to gather input and encourage participation.
  • Develop and implement programs and projects that address community needs and promote community development.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to support community initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Assure that the scope, depth, and frequency of audits and reviews performed are sufficient and appropriate, recognizing both regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
  • Keep senior management abreast of all changes and requirements related to federal, state, and municipal CRA-related laws and regulations, complaints against the bank affecting CRA compliance, and consumer advocacy group activity.
  • Lead or as part of a team manage merger-related due diligence and conversion activities.
  • Identify, maintain, and draft narratives of Community Development qualified loans, donations, and volunteer activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Urban Planning, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in community development project management or a related role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse groups.
  • Proven experience in program development, project management, and resource mobilization.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to community development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
