Job Summary

The University of New Mexico's Office for Academic Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented HR Tech to provide support for faculty personnel actions, administrative tasks, and record maintenance. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to coordinate various HR initiatives and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage office phone and email accounts, performing routine correspondence with applicants, faculty, and departmental clients.
  • Complete routine reporting related to HR processes and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Maintain personnel files, labor agreements, and HR processes in the office database.
  • Implement and maintain electronic personnel file systems, overseeing the transition of legacy filing systems.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, including reserving conference rooms and arranging setup and parking as needed.
  • Prepare meeting minutes regarding confidential personnel actions, labor relations activities, and staff meetings.
  • Maintain the office website, updating content and support tools for faculty and graduate assistantship holders.
  • Oversee incoming inquiries and requests, organizing responsive information and routing inquiries accordingly.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of collective bargaining agreements, labor relations, employee relations, and human resources practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Over three years of analytical and problem-solving experience.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
