Position Overview:
As a NPD Project Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in facilitating product realization through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:


• Execute assigned tasks efficiently, support team members, and contribute to the timely completion of projects.
• Assist in the development of project schedules and coordinate project management activities.
• Aid in the preparation of project budgets and ensure adherence to the Product Realization Stage Gate Requirements.
• Comprehend and actively manage system-level design requirements for Medium Voltage switchgear, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
• Design processes that minimize variation while promoting error-proof assembly.
• Develop engineering test plans for designated design responsibilities.
• Construct and evaluate prototype components or assemblies as needed throughout the development and approval phases.
• Conduct pre-test calculations and review test data against established calculations and standards.
• Perform engineering analyses in the design of new products and their subcomponents.
• Troubleshoot and analyze root causes for both new and existing products.
• Document processes, material requirements, test results, and project activities as necessary.
• Collaborate with purchasing and vendors to select and approve component parts and assemblies.
• Provide engineering support to Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing for both new and existing products and processes.
• Guide supporting personnel, including Associate Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.
• Adhere to established procedures for the creation and maintenance of CAD databases and libraries.
• Participate in the review of engineering drawings prior to manufacturing release, ensuring final approval of applicable drawings.
• Ensure that selected parts and processes align with project and company objectives for cost efficiency and reliability.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in 3D parametric modeling.
• Experience in managing complex and technical projects, with a desire to tackle new challenges.
• Familiarity with the new product development Stage Gate Process.
• Strong communication skills; capable of preparing presentations, updating reports, and leading project meetings.
Technical Expertise Required:
• Knowledge of motor operators, current and voltage sensing, grounding impacts, voltage surges, and power systems.
• Proficient in using small hand and power tools.
• Ability to produce technical documentation, including test reports, engineering standards, and technical papers.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with DFMEA is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ProE/Creo and Finite Element Analysis is a plus.
• Knowledge of medium/high voltage electrical power systems.
• The ideal candidate will demonstrate a history of creativity, innovation, and initiative, with a self-starter mentality eager to learn new methodologies.
