As a Tax Staff at Cherry Bekaert, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality audit services to our clients. You will work under the supervision of experienced accounting professionals, engaging with clients from various industries and communicating with project in-charges and clients to ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement: Develop strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Technical Accounting Skills: Develop and apply technical accounting skills while performing audits of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Audit Checklists and Journal Entries: Prepare and review audit checklists, and adjust journal entries as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Business Writing Experience: Gain experience in business writing while preparing financial statements alongside clients, developing strong communication skills.
  • Workpaper Organization: Prepare and organize workpapers for client files, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Other Essential Duties: Perform other essential duties as needed to support the audit team and ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA certified or eligible to work toward obtaining a CPA license.
  • Academic Performance: Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred, but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including frequent same-day travel and occasional out-of-town travel.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year, with heavier overtime required during certain business cycles.
