Job Title: Tax Attorney

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled Tax Attorney to join our team. As a Tax Attorney, you will be responsible for representing the company in all tax-related matters, including audits, appeals, tax litigation, and tax court.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent the company in all tax-related matters, including audits, appeals, tax litigation, and tax court.
  • Analyze the implications of new tax laws and regulations on the company's financial and operational objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Review and advise on tax implications of contracts, mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
  • Collaborate with the accounting and finance departments to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to company leadership on complex tax matters.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and developments in tax law to ensure the company's ongoing compliance and strategic tax planning.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tax Attorney in the legal industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax law, including experience with audits, appeals, tax litigation, and tax court.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve tax disputes in a favorable and cost-effective manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using tax software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Membership in good standing with the state bar association.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation would be a plus.
