Job Title: Infant Toddler Specialist

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infant Toddler Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Early Head Start Program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational and enrichment activities for infants and toddlers.

Job Summary:

The Infant Toddler Specialist will be responsible for planning and implementing daily lesson plans that meet federal performance standards. You will work closely with our team to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for our young learners. Your expertise in child development and education will be essential in creating engaging and effective learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans that meet federal performance standards
  • Develop and maintain a safe and healthy environment for infants and toddlers
  • Screen and assess infant and toddler aged children to determine developmental needs
  • Develop and implement individual education plans that meet federal performance standards
  • Monitor and document children's progress and development
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to ensure a collaborative approach to child development
  • Participate in quality assurance efforts to ensure program excellence
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate
  • National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement
  • Two years' experience working with Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school, or kindergarten aged children
  • Ability to lift at least 45 lbs. and provide physical assistance in the transportation of special needs children
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages present in the local area
  • Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infant/toddler education
  • Ability to work effectively with others and provide excellent customer service
