Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Treasure Coast Christian Academy. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our young students and inspiring a love of learning.

As a Child Development Specialist, you will be responsible for creating a developmentally appropriate educational experience in the classroom, using methods such as storytelling, games, and activities. You will also teach students to follow rules and procedures in the classroom and school, monitor their progress, and communicate with parents and the director.

Responsibilities
  • Structure a developmentally appropriate educational experience in the classroom.
  • Teach students to follow rules and procedures in the classroom and school.
  • Monitor students' progress throughout the year and evaluate preparedness for the next education level.
  • Communicate all progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and the director.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents.
  • Enforce safety and security standards for children, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain required paperwork for individual student files, attendance, incident reports, and other necessary records.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass drug test and DCF Clearinghouse background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
  • Knowledge of Florida Early Learning Standards and the ability to implement it.
  • Certified or working toward certification in one of the following: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Early Childhood Professional Certificate (ECPC), Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC), or Florida Child Care Staff Credential Verification.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the classroom.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
