Child Life Specialist

As a Child Life Specialist at Johns Hopkins HealthCare, you will provide psychosocially and developmentally based assessment and support to patients and their families in our Outpatient Specialty Clinics. Your expertise will help patients cope with healthcare experiences and promote continued cognitive and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess patient and family psychosocial and developmental strengths and risks
Plan and implement interventions to promote effective coping and growth
Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient care and outcomes
Supervise and evaluate work of volunteers and Child Life interns
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Human Development, or related field
Completion of a Child Life internship and certification through the Association of Child Life Professionals
Strong knowledge of child development, play, stress and coping, and patient-centered care
Excellent communication and documentation skills
