Job Title: Lead Mohs Histotechnician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Mohs Histotechnician to join our team at QualDerm Partners. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of tissue specimens for routine and special procedures, ensuring exceptional patient service, and maintaining a high level of quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain lab staff schedule and train and mentor staff members
  • Assist with receipt of specimens and accessioning paraffin cases, printing cassettes, slides, and slide labels
  • Perform quality assurance checks, verify slide and block match for each case, and compile cases
  • Ensure stat cases are seen by pathologist with urgency and examine and prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and patient diagnosis
  • Operate computerized laboratory equipment, prepare slides of specimens, and examine slides under microscope to ensure tissue preparation meets laboratory requirements
  • Manage unexpected lab situations, such as problems with instruments or detecting health problems that may cause unusual test results
  • Oversee, maintain, and record all necessary documentation for Provider Competencies, including proficiency testing, KOH testing, observation of EMR recordings, microscopic observation, and keeping records of medical licensure for all providers
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment, order supplies, and troubleshoot equipment issues
Requirements:
  • Have completed HTL training program and be eligible to take licensing exam
  • 1 year experience in histopathology laboratory
  • Dermatology practice or office experience a plus
