Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Histotechnician to join our team at QualDerm Partners. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of tissue specimens for routine and special procedures, ensuring exceptional patient service, and maintaining a high level of quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain lab staff schedule and train and mentor staff members
  • Assist with receipt of specimens and accessioning paraffin cases, printing cassettes, slides, and slide labels
  • Perform quality assurance checks, verify slide and block match for each case, and compile cases
  • Ensure stat cases are seen by pathologist with urgency and examine and prepare histologic slides from tissue sections
  • Operate computerized laboratory equipment, prepare slides of specimens, and submit outside materials for review
  • Manage unexpected lab situations, maintain instruments, and perform recuts and additional stains as requested by the pathologist
  • Maintain QC/QA records, documentation, and CLIA compliance
Requirements
  • Completed HTL training program and eligible to take licensing exam
  • 1 year experience in histopathology laboratory, with dermatology practice or office experience a plus
