About the Role:

Tetra Tech is seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to support a wide range of high-profile public transportation and private development projects. As a key member of our team, you will work on designing and implementing sustainable transportation solutions, including traffic signal systems, signing and pavement marking plans, and complex intersections.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and interpret field data to inform transportation studies and design reports
  • Develop and analyze traffic models and simulations to optimize traffic flow
  • Design and implement traffic signal systems, timing charts, and coordinated signal systems
  • Develop signing and pavement marking plans to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow
  • Design complex intersections and concept plans to meet project requirements
  • Prepare traffic management plans (TMP), including staging plans, to minimize disruptions

Requirements:

  • 0-4 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related field
  • BS in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a team environment with staff from different disciplines and backgrounds
  • EIT certification with a goal of Professional Engineer licensure, preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Synchro, HCS, Vissim, SignCAD, AutoTurn, preferred
