Job Title: Restaurant Bartender House of Blues New Orleans

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Restaurant Bartender to join our team at House of Blues New Orleans. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a memorable experience for all who visit our venue.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve a wide range of beverages and food to guests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and approachable manner, building relationships and fostering a sense of community.
  • Successfully complete a pour test prior to every shift, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Suggestively sell beverages and menu items to guests, promoting our offerings and driving sales.
  • Deliver food and beverage orders promptly, ensuring timely service and high-quality products.
  • Prioritize and organize drink orders, managing multiple tasks and responsibilities with ease.
  • Prepare beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications, adhering to all control systems and quality standards.
  • Record any equipment failure or safety hazards in the bar log, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Recognize when guests are becoming intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service, adhering to local ordinance and HOB alcohol policies.
  • Request proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age, verifying age and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain HOB safety and sanitation standards, adhering to all protocols and procedures.
  • Perform Opening/Running/Closing duties according to HOB policy, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Prepare guest checks and process payment according to HOB policy, managing cash and credit transactions with accuracy.
  • Maintain bartender bank, managing cash and inventory with precision.
  • Perform cash pull and check-out procedures, ensuring accurate accounting and reconciliation.
  • Maintain appropriate Comp and Spill checks, managing inventory and controlling costs.
  • Occasionally work Special Events, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
Qualifications:
  • State or County Licensee or Certification Requirement/Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent.
  • Flexible schedule, including late hours and weekends.
  • Cash handling experience, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
  • Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork, with a positive and safety-minded attitude.
  • Physically able to pass a pour test and a mixology drill (timed).
  • Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner.
  • Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms.
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent.
