Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Investigation: Conduct regular patrols of university campuses and surrounding areas to prevent and detect criminal activity.
  • Law Enforcement: Enforce all local, state, and federal laws and ordinances within the officer's jurisdiction.
  • Community Policing: Build relationships with the university community to foster a sense of safety and security.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Write and complete coherent reports of incidents, investigations, and regulatory infractions.

Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or G.E.D., with preference given to those with college education and comparable experience.
  • Certifications: Must have completed training mandated by the State of Louisiana under Revised Statute 17:1805 and any other applicable laws and/or regulations.
  • Physical and Mental Demands: Must be able to perform all duties of a Law Enforcement Officer, including physical and mental stress.
  • Communication Skills: Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
