GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is designed to deliver comprehensive administrative and clerical assistance to the AmeriCorps Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Department. The individual will engage in a range of clerical and technical responsibilities as designated. This position acts as the primary point of contact for RSVP, offering support to volunteers, interns, community organizations, volunteer station sites, elected officials, students, staff, and the general public. The employee will operate under the general guidance of the Project Director of RSVP and will not oversee any staff.

*Note: Employee is limited to a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.*

SELECTION CRITERIA:

The cover letter must address how the following knowledge, skills, and abilities were developed:

Knowledge of: 1. Relevant Federal, State, and institutional laws, regulations, and policies; 2. Proficient use of various electronic devices, including computers, scanners, copiers, printers, and webcams; 3. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation; 4. Principles and practices related to the Retired Senior Volunteer program and its community collaborators; 5. Microsoft applications, assistive technologies, and internal software systems.

Ability to: 10. Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders; 11. Draft routine correspondence and memoranda; 12. Comprehend and effectively execute oral and written instructions; 13. Prioritize and accomplish tasks efficiently with minimal supervision; 14. Organize and facilitate community meetings and occasional special events during evenings or weekends.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This position involves sedentary desk work with occasional field trips for program-related activities. The work environment is a standard office setting with minimal hazards, ensuring health and comfort through adequate environmental controls.

BENEFITS:

Part-time retirement plan eligibility. Participation in Medicare Part A, excluding Social Security (FICA).

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Some relevant work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Prior experience in a clerical setting.
