The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a high-volume retail or large-scale operational environment.

This role requires a dynamic individual with exceptional communication abilities and a solid understanding of inventory management, profit and loss oversight, budgeting, merchandising strategies, employee training, recruitment, and human resources matters.

The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter capable of managing a substantial workforce. Knowledge of food service operations is highly advantageous. Strong customer service skills are essential, as this position involves regular interaction with business clients.

Compensation will be based on experience and includes benefits, a 401k plan, and a bonus structure.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
  • Oversee daily operations within a cold storage facility, ensuring effective management of picking and loading processes.
  • Monitor and validate the execution of operational procedures to achieve set goals, particularly in the context of cold storage challenges.

Leadership Development:
  • Inspire and guide supervisors and warehouse personnel, cultivating a workplace culture centered on teamwork, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
  • Offer coaching and support to address performance challenges and promote professional development.

Performance Monitoring:
  • Evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the productivity and efficiency of the distribution center within a cold storage framework.
  • Identify trends and inefficiencies, formulating action plans for enhancement.

Inventory Coordination:
  • Work closely with the Logistics team to manage stock levels, track inventory movement, and minimize carrying costs, while considering cold storage constraints.

Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, particularly in the unique environment of cold storage.
  • Foster a safe workplace by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular training sessions.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction within a cold storage setting.
  • Implement best practices, technological advancements, and automation to facilitate process improvements.
