Las Vegas, Nevada, United States Great Gray, LLC Full time
Job Overview

Why Choose Great Gray?

At Great Gray Trust Company, we are committed to redefining the standards of the retirement services sector. Our mission is to provide sophisticated retirement solutions that integrate our fundamental fiduciary services with comprehensive investment alternatives, cutting-edge technology, and exceptional client support. We prioritize clarity in decision-making, seamless transitions, and an enhanced client experience. We believe in continuous improvement and actively seek ways to better serve our clients and strengthen our partnerships.

Company Profile

Great Gray Trust Company stands as the premier independent provider of trustee and administrative services for Collective Investment Trusts (CITs), managing over $175 billion in CIT assets across more than 700 funds. We collaborate with 75 subadvisors, including top firms such as Alliance Bernstein, American Funds, BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, MetLife, Neuberger Berman, PGIM, PIMCO, and Raymond James.

CITs offer a progressive approach to retirement planning, functioning as tax-exempt pooled investment vehicles for employer-sponsored retirement plans like 401Ks. While similar to mutual funds, CITs are tailored for the institutional retirement market, providing unique advantages such as efficient administration and cost-effectiveness. With a history spanning over 90 years, CITs have gained traction in recent years, and Great Gray has been at the forefront of this evolution.

Great Gray has consistently achieved year-over-year growth that surpasses market averages and is dedicated to further developing its core CIT business alongside complementary administrative services and technological solutions for the retirement sector.

Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP) acquired Great Gray from Wilmington Trust, marking a new chapter as an independent entity owned by funds affiliated with MDP.

Investor Insights

MDP is a prominent private equity investment firm based in Chicago, having raised over $28 billion in aggregate capital since its inception in 1992 and completed more than 150 platform investments across five dedicated industry sectors, including basic industries, business and government software and services, financial and transaction services, healthcare, and telecom, media, and technology services.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping our strategy concerning Azure public cloud adoption, designing customer-centric solutions, and ensuring operational excellence. The Software Architect will act as a technical mentor across various teams, ensuring the development of modern, scalable, and reliable solutions.

Software Architects are Lean-Agile leaders who collaborate across the organization, working closely with engineers, fellow architects, product management, and leadership to drive architectural coherence in alignment with Great Gray's objectives. They focus on immediate tactical challenges while also evaluating and planning for the architectural roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess technology opportunities through proof-of-concept initiatives to inform impactful business decisions regarding Great Gray's solutions and security, including their edge cases, failure modes, and lifecycles.

  • Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies and trends, assessing their relevance to our business needs and leading the exploration of new solutions that could enhance our financial services offerings.
