Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Social Work Supervisor to join our team at The Children's Center of Hamden Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision to our Social Workers and Interns, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and support to deliver high-quality services to our clients.

The School Social Work Supervisor will be accountable for assessing the competencies and job performance of our Social Workers and Interns, and providing individualized supervision to promote staff development and improve outcomes. They will also be responsible for interacting with administrative and treatment staff, as well as outside agencies and professionals, to ensure that our services are delivered in a timely and effective manner.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical social work, with experience in supervising and leading teams. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work well independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to Social Workers and Interns
  • Assess competencies and job performance of Social Workers and Interns
  • Provide individualized supervision to promote staff development and improve outcomes
  • Interact with administrative and treatment staff, as well as outside agencies and professionals
  • Develop and implement therapeutic interventions to promote positive change
  • Supervise Student Interns

Requirements:

  • Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), required
  • Connecticut (SDE) Certification as a School Social Worker (Endorsement #071), required
  • At least two years' supervisory experience
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical and supervisory skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to design and implement therapeutic interventions to promote positive change
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Ability to work well independently within a treatment team philosophy
