The Ladders is in search of a Senior Accountant to enhance our Finance team. We are looking for a motivated, independent professional who can effectively contribute to both personal and collective objectives. The Senior Accountant will oversee the organization's accounting operations, facilitate financial reporting and strategic planning, and manage interactions with financial institutions and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting functions and the month-end closing process, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Prepare journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, prepaids, depreciation, and reclassifications, while maintaining reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly internal financial reports.
- Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes with customer and vendor reporting and analysis.
- Assist in payroll processing and related reporting.
- Compile ad hoc financial reports and analyze data for actionable insights.
- Coordinate with external auditors for interim and year-end financial statement audits.
- Assist external tax advisors with financial and accounting inquiries.
- Collaborate across departments as a strategic partner, providing financial insights that enhance operational success.
- Support accounting processes to strengthen internal controls, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency.
- Assist with the transition to an ERP system and become a subject matter expert in its use.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional accounting experience; CPA designation preferred.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Excellent internal customer service skills along with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated drive for success and a strong work ethic, characterized by integrity and sound judgment.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems with minimal supervision.
