Responsibilities:
  • Provide routine nursing procedures and techniques, including observing and screening patients, monitoring vital signs, and performing therapeutic measures.
  • Refer patients to physicians and schedule appointments as necessary, and provide phlebotomy services and assist with the distribution of patient medicine as required.
  • Maintain and update patient health records, and assist in maintaining clinic supplies, equipment, and devices.
  • Provide patient and community health education, and represent the department on university, community, and professional committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications, and standard nursing procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
