Position Summary

The Transportation Department at JEO Consulting Group specializes in a range of services, including traffic engineering, transportation planning, roadway and bridge design, as well as construction management and oversight. The Transportation Engineer will collaborate with a skilled team to manage projects that not only meet but exceed client expectations while aligning with JEO's financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed Roadway Design plans and associated contract documentation.
  • Conduct on-site inspections for various transportation enhancement projects.
  • Execute Roadway Design tasks, which include:
    • Designing culverts and storm sewer systems.
    • Establishing horizontal and vertical alignments.
    • Creating typical section layouts.
    • Developing geometric designs and grades.
    • Producing roadway cross sections and/or corridor models.
  • Ensure all design-related forms and reports are complete and accurate.
  • Generate and evaluate cost estimates and construction quantity calculations.
  • Oversee layout and review plans for compliance.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiency in CADD and ensure adherence to project-specific CADD standards.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the engineering sector, specifically on City, County, or Department of Transportation projects.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and OpenRoads is advantageous.
