Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Residential Support Staff to join our team at Alabama A&M University. This is a 9-month full-time position that requires a strong commitment to working with individuals, groups, and college students in the residence hall environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Residence Hall Director in implementing, monitoring, and reporting on programs designed to promote student growth and development.
  • Support the orientation of new students to the University and the Residence Hall.
  • Enforce Residence Hall policies and regulations, maintaining records and reports as necessary.
  • Counsel and advise students, referring to appropriate resource persons as needed.
  • Perform duties on designated shifts and/or buildings as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences, Student Personnel, Human Sciences, or related fields.
  • Some experience in customer service, hotel front desk, resident assistant, security guard, military housing, building maintenance, or related work experience.
  • Counseling, group work, human relations training, and other related duties are a plus.

How to Apply

Do you have a bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences, Student Personnel, Human Sciences, or related fields and some experience with providing customer service, hotel front desk, resident assistant, security guard, military housing, building maintenance, and/or other related work experience? Or high school diploma or equivalent with some experience in customer service, counseling experience, group work, or human relations training, and four or more years of work experience in the following areas: residential living, residence hall living, security guard, military housing clerk, reservations, housing logistics, hotel front desk experience, or group home experience?
