Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize scientific and engineering expertise to design, implement, and oversee advanced government-funded research and development programs aimed at enhancing health outcomes.
- Analyze the current landscape of biomanufacturing technologies, identifying cutting-edge advancements and innovative methodologies.
- Conduct thorough evaluations to propose ambitious performance and cost benchmarks that push the boundaries of current capabilities.
- Engage with leading technical experts from academia, industry, and national laboratories to foster collaboration and establish new interdisciplinary technical communities.
- Review complex technical proposals and assist in the negotiation of project agreements, providing guidance on project strategies and technical objectives.
- Oversee the technical aspects of the project portfolio throughout its lifecycle, ensuring successful execution and impactful results.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in biomanufacturing equipment design, bioprocess engineering, or related fields within the post-doctoral or post-medical laboratory sectors.
- Proficient in upstream and downstream processing of biological products, particularly in genetic therapies such as mRNA and DNA vaccines.
- Experience in navigating diverse databases and scientific literature to gather relevant information.
- Strong understanding of chemistry manufacturing and controls (CMC), including principles of process development and quality by design.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to challenge conventional approaches through insightful questioning.
- Doctorate in Biomanufacturing, Bioprocessing, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in a professional setting, particularly in bioprocess equipment design and integration.
- Familiarity with genetic medicine biomanufacturing and regulatory processes such as cGMP and IND filing.
- Experience in supporting or collaborating with Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) organizations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to convey complex information effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to develop actionable insights and recommendations to address intricate client challenges.
Security Clearance:
Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
