Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer to support the National Security Systems team at NASA. This role involves maintaining, configuring, and operating computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. The successful candidate will provide quick reaction support to the Operations team and the NASA customer to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and modify networks and network components supporting data, voice, and video communication activities.
  • Perform configuration, preventative maintenance, fault isolation of local/remote LAN equipment, and possess a detailed knowledge of and experience with various Cisco product lines.
  • Conduct testing of network systems and associated devices.
  • Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Ensure data integrity and storage meet Federal standards.
  • Conduct audit of equipment and production systems and create appropriate reports.

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of network infrastructure design, routed data protocols, and hardware platforms.
  • Experience in WAN and LAN, routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Basic understanding of security device architecture, engineering, and installation/management.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of Cisco Firewalls.
  • Knowledge in Operating Systems such as Windows, Cisco IOS, and RHEL.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Riverbed Steel Central Appliances
  • Knowledge of Splunk
  • Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications
  • Knowledge of NSA type 1 encryption devices

Education:

  • Bachelor with 5 years of experience, AA/AS with 8 years of experience, or HS with 12 years of experience

Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Required Certifications:

  • CompTIA Network
  • CompTIA Security
