Position Overview – Administrative Consultant - Office of Compliance and Oversight

The Administrative Consultant will collaborate closely with a Director-level GS-15 within the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at a significant Federal Department. The ideal candidate will engage in a variety of administrative and business process consulting activities, including:

  • Management of documents
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Coordinating tasks and projects
  • Managing calendars
  • Handling email correspondence
  • Data entry tasks
  • Organizing documents
  • Conducting research
  • Preparing reports for executives or managers
  • Automating administrative functions
  • Identifying and eliminating redundancies

Support will encompass the evaluation and analysis of extensive Federal IT acquisitions to ensure compliance with relevant policies and Federal laws governing government IT. The successful Consultant will gain an in-depth understanding of the client's operations, positioning themselves as a trusted advisor. The ideal candidate will offer advanced technical insights and analysis in a specialized operational environment, conduct high-level functional analysis, documentation, training, and provide implementation guidance on complex issues requiring extensive program knowledge.

The candidate will be involved in all phases of development, providing strategic guidance for enhancing, modifying, and redesigning business workflows, policies, and procedures, as well as composing and finalizing deliverables and project documentation.

This is a full-time consulting role, with significant opportunities for professional growth based on individual performance and the ability to meet and exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement:

  • Daily client interactions and Tier 1 support for all administrative tasks mentioned above
  • Delivering services aligned with OMB, FITARA, MEGABYTE, and other Department-specific policies
  • Demonstrating proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), Visio, and SharePoint
  • Collaborating with the team to develop efficiencies and automations relevant to key tasks and activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Located in Washington DC with the ability to commute as necessary for key client meetings
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment (onsite up to 3 days per week)
  • Capability to meet client clearance requirements (Public Trust)
  • Experience in Federal government professional services, including consulting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with clients
  • Ability to effectively manage client relationships and utilize their time efficiently
  • Attention to detail and resourcefulness

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in IT asset management
  • Understanding of procurement governance, processes, and policies
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Familiarity with Power BI or a willingness to learn
  • Working knowledge of IT business processes
  • Strong analytical skills with an assertive and inquisitive approach to transforming information into actionable insights
  • Experience in developing and presenting briefings to senior executives
