As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you are essential in ensuring our operations run seamlessly behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities:
Additional tasks may be assigned.
Perform maintenance and servicing of refrigeration systems, including walk-in freezers, refrigerators, and coolers. Replace belts, service motors, controls, and refrigerant systems.
Maintain and service dishwashers, water heaters, steam kettles, cookers, and mixers.
Service and maintain ovens, gas valves, pilot lights, thermocouples, heating and refrigeration units on food carts, fans, and electrical cords.
Install and relocate food service equipment and appliances.May oversee the work of others, requisition materials, maintain records of time and materials, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
When not engaged in food service support, assist with other maintenance tasks throughout the district, which may involve heavy manual labor and skilled or semi-skilled tasks.
Knowledge Required:
Understanding of electrical and plumbing methods, principles, and practices related to buildings; knowledge of kitchen appliance repair, electric motors, pumps, compressors, and refrigeration, heating, and plumbing systems.
Basic arithmetic, work vocabulary, and English language skills necessary for effective job performance.
Awareness of safety procedures and practices relevant to work in and around food service areas.
Skills and Abilities:
Diagnose, maintain, and troubleshoot electric motors, pumps, compressors, refrigeration, heating, and plumbing systems.
Utilize necessary hand and power tools.
Lift heavy objects.
Read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
Estimate time and materials; maintain work records and reports.
Understand and execute oral and written instructions.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Licenses: A valid driver's license
HVAC certification may be required in certain areas
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
While executing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally.
The employee frequently must walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and utilize senses such as taste or smell. The employee may occasionally be required to stand.The employee must be capable of bending, stooping, crawling, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, walking, and grasping. Ability to lift heavy weights regularly is essential.
Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must be prepared to work schedules that include nights, weekends, and holidays.
