Job Summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) is seeking a Patient Services Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient-centered customer service, facilitating the patient check-in process, and performing various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Check-in and Registration: Greet and screen patients arriving for appointments, check them in using an automated scheduling system, and assemble and distribute necessary paperwork.
  • Customer Service: Provide patient and family-centered customer service, triage questions and concerns from callers, and forward to appropriate staff or department as needed.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general clerical duties, including processing mail, taking inventory, and ordering office supplies.
  • Order Activation and Scheduling: Activate provider orders and schedule patient appointments as ordered by clinicians.
  • Patient Flow Facilitation: May be responsible for facilitating patient flow and verifying demographic, clinical, and financial information with patients as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Six months to one year of experience in a customer service environment.
  • Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex healthcare environment, effectively organize and manage time and tasks independently, and communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
