Role Summary:
The Petrochemical Sales Estimation Engineer at MetalTek plays a crucial role in formulating precise and comprehensive cost estimates and lead times to facilitate the generation of quotes for our Petrochemical clientele. Utilizing advanced computer systems and collaborating with field sales, manufacturing, and metallurgical engineers, the Estimation Engineer crafts detailed estimates for the production of our bespoke, high-performance castings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop estimates that encompass material costs and all manufacturing processes, including casting, heat treatment, machining, and quality assurance to meet customer specifications.
- Incorporate third-party processing considerations, such as external machining or non-destructive testing, into estimates.
- Identify and evaluate the risk potential associated with new business opportunities.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Engineering team to enhance the Petrochemical product line.
Qualifications:
A degree in business, engineering, or materials technology, along with experience in the metals manufacturing sector or familiarity with the Petrochemical market, applications, and product design, is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of foundry and fabrication techniques and processes. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly spreadsheets and databases, is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are also critical for success in this role.
