About this Role

The Vice President of Transmission is responsible for overseeing the transmission operations within an energy or utility company. This role involves managing the planning, development, and maintenance of the transmission infrastructure to ensure reliable and efficient delivery of electricity or other energy sources. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to drive innovation and sustainability in transmission operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision and direction for the transmission division, aligning transmission strategies with the company's overall business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the transmission infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence by implementing best practices and performance metrics.
  • Regulatory and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards, developing and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies and industry organizations.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage the transmission division's budget, ensuring financial efficiency and accountability, and identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing transmission team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, contractors, and community partners, representing the company at industry conferences, meetings, and events.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the energy sector, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role focused on transmission.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale transmission projects and operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of transmission systems, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
