Job Title: Food Runner / Busperson

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Food Runner / Busperson to join our team at Opaline Bar & Brasserie. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests and assisting in all aspects of breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.

Responsibilities:
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to our guests.
  • Assist servers with food delivery, clearing tables, and setting up tables.
  • Attend to buffet items and replenish items and guest amenities as needed.
  • Restock and maintain inventory levels of all products.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness of the restaurant at all times.
  • Early morning shifts include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Follow restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Have full knowledge of beverage lists, promotions, menu items, contents, and preparation methods.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.
  • May have to assist In-Room Dining team.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the food service industry is an asset.
  • Previous experience as a busser/server's assistant in a luxury setting is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Food handler certification is an asset.
  • Certification in CPR is an asset.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and without supervision.
  • Ability to multitask and work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
Physical Abilities:
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Reach 1-2 feet.
  • Remain in a stationary position for 2 hours throughout the work shift.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Exert physical effort in carrying items (up to 40 pounds).
  • Frequent lifting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
