About the Role

ATW is seeking a skilled Robotics and Automation Engineer to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing robotic manufacturing weld cells, with expertise in fixtures, safety implementation, PLC programming, and robotics integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robotic cells to fabricate various assemblies through fixturing, welding robots, and PLC programming.
  • Implement design solutions that incorporate stellar safety systems while promoting efficient manufacturing methodologies.
  • Perform and document risk assessments of automated cells per ANSI/RIA R15.06.
  • Create standard operating procedures and train personnel on new systems.
  • Assist in monitoring critical to Quality process settings on PLCs, robots, welders, and material handlers.
  • Help troubleshoot automation systems to resolve technical issues and minimize downtime.
  • Work with equipment and material vendors to design effective automated solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technicians, operators, and plant personnel.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • 5+ years experience designing and implementing robotic and automated solutions.
  • Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and robots, preferably Rockwell, Fanuc, and Miller.
  • Experience with 2D/3D modeling software, such as Solidworks or CREO Wildfire.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning systems quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Consistently demonstrates highest level of personal ethical conduct.
