Position Overview: The Old Dominion Group is looking for a skilled Construction Estimator to become a vital part of our Preconstruction Team.

  • Continuously evaluate costs associated with materials, equipment, and labor
  • Utilize software for precise take-offs to ensure accurate bidding
  • Create comprehensive estimates and purchase orders
  • Ensure timely submission of bid packages
  • Review costs and refine estimating methods as required
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and trade partners
  • Manage change orders to keep projects within financial limits
  • Identify potential growth avenues for the organization
  • Efficiently maintain project logs and directories

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in construction estimation
  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proficient in interpreting architectural plans and specifications
  • Strong communication and analytical capabilities
  • Familiarity with MS Word and Excel
  • Self-driven and collaborative team member

Assistant Estimator:

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
