Position Overview

As an Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will leverage your expertise to assist the Operations Maintenance team in the upkeep and repair of material handling systems and pneumatic equipment across the facility. This role provides the chance to install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated packaging and distribution machinery. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to guide and mentor junior technicians, fostering their professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks with thorough documentation.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships throughout the Operations facility.
  • Manage and organize department inventory effectively.
  • Be prepared to lift up to 49lbs and remain active during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Be open to potential travel requirements of up to 20%.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher from a vocational institution or college focusing on Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
  • Over 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • More than 2 years of experience in repairing material handling equipment.
  • At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • 1+ years of experience in metal and wood fabrication.
  • 1+ years of proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • 1+ year of understanding electrical and electronic principles.
  • Familiarity with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards as per Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.

Physical Requirements

  • Engage in repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lift parts and tools averaging 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds.
  • Demonstrate dexterity in eye/hand coordination, including manual tasks and wrist motions.
  • Work conditions may involve small spaces, dust, fumes, temperature variations, noise, vibrations, and standing on concrete for extended periods.
