Position Overview
As an Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will leverage your expertise to assist the Operations Maintenance team in the upkeep and repair of material handling systems and pneumatic equipment across our facilities. This role offers you the chance to install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated packaging and distribution machinery. You will also have the opportunity to guide and mentor junior technicians, fostering their professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks with accurate documentation.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
- Foster positive working relationships throughout the Operations facility.
- Manage and organize department inventory.
- Capable of lifting up to 49 lbs and standing or walking for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Potential travel up to 20% may be required.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work various schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher from a vocational institution or college focusing on Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
- Over 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
- More than 2 years of experience in the maintenance of material handling equipment.
- At least 2 years of experience executing predictive and preventative maintenance protocols.
- 1+ years of experience in metal and wood fabrication.
- 1+ years of experience interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
- 1+ year of knowledge regarding electrical and electronic principles.
- Familiarity with MHE safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety regulations.
- Experience in project management.
- Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Experience with robotic or electromechanical operations and maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
Physical Requirements
- Capable of repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
- Ability to lift parts and tools averaging 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds.
- Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedal operation, and wrist motion.
- Working conditions may involve small spaces, dust, fumes, temperature variations, noise, vibration, and standing on concrete for extended periods.
