The Employee Health Nurse is a vital member of the LCMC Health team, responsible for providing exceptional care and support to employees. This role requires a strong nursing background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on established standards and policies.
- Delegate tasks to professional and non-professional personnel involved in patient care.
- Facilitate and maintain a safe environment for patients and others, with a focus on wound care treatment and prevention.
- Actively promote and support performance improvement initiatives by implementing infection control practices and participating in quality improvement activities.
- Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care, including organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating all aspects of care for assigned patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify actions to improve patient care and education.
- Provide customer service by displaying a positive attitude and utilizing the service recovery process to address patient concerns.
- Maintain current knowledge in nursing practice and participate in activities to expand nursing knowledge in the area of practice.
- Education: Three to four years of formal education and completion of an accredited nursing program, current RN licensure in the state of Louisiana required.
- Experience: Two or more years of nursing experience required, with knowledge of OSHA, CDC, NOISH, and TJC standards and guidelines.
- Skills: Adheres to principles of professional nursing practice as described by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
The Employee Health Nurse will work in an office located in the Human Resources building, which is handicapped accessible. The role may require coordination and participation in activities on other campuses owned and operated by LCMC Health. On occasion, the Employee Health Nurse may be required to work outside of normal hours to provide testing and vaccinations for employees.
